This is a photo of Virginia Belhumeur, better know to the family as “Mim”. The photo was probably taken sometime between 1935 and the time of her death, on August 21, 1939. There are many humorous stories about Mim, many about how she carried her self around family. She would jump at the chance to play out in the yard with the younger children, especially to play baseball. She would reach down between her knees, grab the hem of her dress from the back, and pull it up in front of her, then pin it all together so that she could play the field and run the bases without interference from long dress. This photo should be a reminder to all that she was a fun-loving grandma with arms long enough to hug bunches of little people she loved so much.
